Volunteering

At Sacred Heart Parish School we believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. We support parents by creating a Catholic educational environment that blends learning and believing in the context of community. We encourage parents to volunteer in the classroom and participate in enrichment activities such as field trips, coaching, and the art docent program, just to name a few. Children who see their parents get involved with their school community are more likely to model that behavior in their own lives.

According to school safety policy and unsafe intruder precautions, all authorized visitors and volunteers to the school campus must sign in at the school office and wear the visitor/volunteer pass. Upon leaving the campus all visitors and volunteers must sign out and turn in their visitor/volunteer pass.

Sacred Heart is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for students. To this end, and in compliance with Sacramento diocesan-wide requirements, we require that all employees, clergy and volunteers who work with the children be fingerprinted through the Department of Justice and complete the on-line Shield the Vulnerable program.
