Sacred Heart Parish School serves the Sacred Heart Parish Community by providing a quality Catholic elementary education (K-8) that is based on the Gospel values of Jesus, and is dedicated to the development of the spiritual, intellectual, social-emotional and physical life of our students.

Welcome Note

At Sacred Heart Parish School, we believe in educating the whole child. In our care students will grow intellectually, spiritually, socially, emotionally and physically. We are a small, Catholic, neighborhood school. We recognize each and every student as a child of God with unique talents and gifts. At Sacred Heart, all children have the chance to fulfill their academic and social potential while learning and experiencing the richness of the Catholic faith through developing a relationship with a loving God. Our Catholic faith and values are reflected in every aspect of our school, from the lesson plans to the physical structure. When students enter school each morning, they are greeted by the words, "Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like yours." These are more than just reminders; they are the basis of everything we teach.

Happy New Year!

We are off and running again after our holiday break. January marks the middle point of our school year. The second half of the school year is as packed with exciting events as the first half.

Our basketball season is underway. Over 200 Sacred Heart students participate in the basketball program. If you’ve never seen a Little Dribblers game, you are missing out! Come cheer on all of our Sacred Heart basketball teams.

Our eighth graders will be taking the High School Placement exams on January 21. This is a rite of passage of sorts that we’ve been grooming them for since kindergarten. But they sit for these exams with confidence because they have had a solid educational experience that prepares them well. Good luck 8th grade!

We celebrate Catholic Schools Week January 31 – February 3. The theme this year is: Faith, Academics, Service. We will kick off the week with Mass at 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church. Look for the flyer outlining all of the week’s activities.

Our annual Scholastic Book Fair begins with preview days on January 26 and 27. It is open during Open House on January 29th and through January 31. This is a great opportunity to enhance your home library. All proceeds benefit the Sacred Heart School Library.

At Open House on January 29th we showcase our awesome school. Everyone is invited to tour the beautiful buildings and grounds, see the wonderful student work and meet our dedicated teachers. We encourage you to bring family, friends, and anyone interested in joining our school community. Open House is from 11:00am – 1:30pm.

Our 6th annual Crab Feed and Silent Auction is on February 11 in the school gym. Doors open at 6:00pm. Enter our raffle during our No Host Happy Hour. Then Bid! Bid! Bid! on the silent auction offerings. By this time you will be ready to enjoy the “All You Can Eat” dinner featuring appetizers, clam chowder, salad, pasta with meat sauce and CRAB, CRAB, CRAB! All this and more for only $45/person. Secure your place at the table by completing the reservation form and turning in your payment to the school office. This is a great community building event you won’t want to miss.

The rest of the year is filled with preparation for the sacraments of Confirmation, and First Holy Communion, the Academic Decathlon, spring sports, our annual golf/tennis tournament and graduation. In the middle of all this we continue to focus on delivering the academic programs that make our students successful. Stay tuned for more details!
